Bought this for my new Olympus Evolt E-500 camera and I couldn’t be happier. I got this on a amazing deal from Circuit City. Came across cards from other manufacturer but I had been loyal SanDisk fan. It’s 4 GB, so no more worrying about running out of storage while traveling.
Strengths: 1) Excellent speed - not the best but in the top 20 performers out there 2) Nice extras - software bundle for processing RAW images and recovering deleted stuff off the card, plus a carrying pouch
Weakness: Fairly expensive compared to other 4gb compactflashes out there
Must-have for high megapixel cameras :) I have no problem shooting multiple pictures in jpg (not so good with raw) in my brand-new Rebel XTi. Plenty of space for making multiple pictures and very good speed for filling it up fast :) Do yourself a favor and get it!
Strengths: Blazing fast 20mb/sec read/write - fastest available (next to the Extreme IV that just came out)
Weakness: More costly than other 4gb cards
Next to the Extreme IVs that just got released, this is the fastest card out. You'll see a lot of other cards boast 133X speeds, but check the WRITE speeds carefully. Reading may be fast, but only good for transfering pictures from camera to computer. If you're taking pictures full burst or shooting 30+ RAWs in a row, then this is a must buy - otherwise, its rather unnecessary extra $ when your...
Strengths: Fast (rated 133x = 20MB/sec) with Enhanced Super Parallel Processing (ESP) Technology, includes data recovery software, Lifetime Limited Warranty, Priority Tech Support.
Weakness: New Sandisk Extreme IV product line (rated 40MB/sec) positions Extreme III as the "Junior" line that will target those whose profession does not require sustained high-speed bursts.
Works great with Nikon D200. Completely outperformed an 80x card with Write Acceleration (WA) Technology during sustained high-speed bursts (approximately 5/sec) in a crude test. Buffer filled at 22 shots and then 80x card continued to download an additional shot every 3 seconds. In contrast, buffer filled at 26 shots and then Extreme III 133x card continued to download an additional shot every...
Strengths: Very fast and effecient when shooting continous shots.
Weakness: None, but I wish I had the 8Gig card. lol
The 4Gig card is a must have for any serious Photographer looking to shoot multiple shots and large beautiful images simultaneously. I am very happy with this card.
Strengths: Size, price and sheer speed
Weakness: none so far
I'm still in disbelief I got the card for the price I paid, $200 with shipping(thanks PriceGrabber).I'm using it with a Canon 20D, which I bought a few months back. I'm not a professional photographer, but someone who likes to take a lot of pictures, and every so often one turn out to be something special, most often when I least expect it. This card will enable me to take a lot of pictures in a...
Strengths: Speed and memory size
Weakness: None
I purchased the SanDisk 4GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card primarily to satisfy the large file size which goes with pictures taken with a Nikon D2X camera. First off this card has a limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. That should tell you something. Secondly, paired with a Nikon D2X camera it is blazing fast and has enough memory for most photo excursions. The Extreme III series is...
Strengths: Writes files as fast as I can press the shutter button on my Nikon D200.
Weakness: None that can determine.
This card was purchased for an Alaskan photo adventure consisting of landscapes and moving animals (whales, birds, bears, sheep, etc). All images were uploaded to a laptop daily and then to a second hard drive for redundancy. I have noticed that some images have red dots and grainy (ISO-400)and not certain this is the fault of the card, dust on mirror or electronics of the Nikon. My D70 with a 2G...
This card is supposed to be the fastest CF card. However, you need to have a fast host device to take advantage of it. For my Pentax *ist D, this card and the Seagate 4GB micro-drive perform the same way. However, there is an advantage of being CF type I: it is easier to grab it using your fingernail when the hosting device has no eject button. For example, my Dell AXIM X51V has no eject button,...

SanDisk Extreme III 4GB CompactFlash Card 133x
Strengths: fast transfers with plenty of room for high end pictures
Weakness: none
As prices have come down for high end compact flash cards, we now have an opportunity to buy a card like this. It holds hundreds of RAW or super high quality pictures which then transfer quickly to the camera.
