Strengths: reasonable lens, twist body, fairly sharp pics, 4 mpix, flexibility, macro capability

Weakness: burned highlights, very weak flash (better not to use since it messes up exposure many times), complicated menus, battery life

Too much money for too little performance... there are better choices out there that provide similar or for sure better performance. The fact that highlights re almost always burned unless you spend time adjusting the exposure (underexpose and fix later on PC) is a real annoyance - especially if you are shooting people at parties, weddings, etc. Battery life is nowhere near advertised values. Strengths: sharp images,easy to control,4x lens

Weakness: bad battery, only can use half days, and in the weak light the focus can not work very well, for it has no assistant focus light

i test it all the time. i regret i hadn't buy canon G2, though it only has 3x lens. sometime i feel the image is too sharp, i feel it looks not so nature.

Strengths: Super image quality. Very flexible and adaptable to different lighting situations. Great grip. (Better than my old 990!). Battery seems to go a long way (Haven't recharged yet!). Light.

Weakness: Haven't found them yet.

Super camera! For high-quality images, and a camera that just "feels right" in your hands, stop right here. As a former 990 owner, I can say the 4500 is better in every way!

Would certainly buy again!! The Macro is second to none and handels my coin and currency shots with authority! I get the cleanest Macro shots ever! I can't recommend a better camera.

Weakness: Difficulty in focusing on close, close ups. Really needs a tripod on other than point and shoots.

Strengths: Swivel design, great picture quality, Comes with rechargeable battery and charger. Software is easy to use, user manual is GREAT. Looks good, feels good.

Weakness: I have yet to discover any weaknesses with the camera itself. It would be nice to provide an AC/adapter with the camera in addition to the battery charger.

Weakness: focusing at low light and while using Nikons TeleMicro, manual focusing should show distance

Great camera! Learning how to use it takes a few days. Manual focus is in 51 steps changes distance every step according to the following sequence in cm: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 32, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 1m, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 2, 2.5, 3, 4,5,7,10,inf. Camera should display it and manual should list it.

Strengths: Well thought out ergonomics, compact with all metal body. Great color saturation

Weakness: Miss the top data LCD display and the new 1.5" LCD is way too small.

Moved up from a Coolpix 950 and still going through a somewhat protracted learning curve. This camera has a lot more "bells and whistles" and the 16 scene mode feature is fantastic.

I owned a Coolpix 950 for 2 years. Great picture quality, but the Coolpix 4500 is even better. The battery does very well. I can take over 300 pictures on a charge (without the flash). There are many improvements since the Coolpix 950,990,995 came out. The 4500 is smaller too. Great camera.
