AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor

Strengths: Highly overclockable, cool & quite technology

Weakness: None.

I'm sure a lot of people will mention about the overclockability of this processor. You can find this info everywhere on the web. Instead I'll mention about the "quiteness" of this proccesor. If you want to build a quite computer, this is (and all AMD 64s) a "must have" processor. Mine i running right now mostly without an active fan on it! After accidentally running my old Athlon XP processor at...

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor

Strengths: AMD. 939 pin.

Weakness: None.

Hey, it's AMD. If you are a gamer, the Athlon's are better than the Pentium's. The newer 90 nm takes less power thus creates less heat in your computer. 939 pin seems to be the one that AMD wants to build around for a while.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor

Strengths: As fast as a 3.2G P4 at less than 1/2 of its price. Ability to perform 64 bit calculations.

Weakness: Memory controller unable to allow 4 double-sided memory sticks to run at DDR400, reverts to DDR333 and must overclock to compensate.

Works very well as the lower end of the AMD64 939-pin scale. Has excellent overclocking abilty, up to a 50% increase in speed can be accomplished with stock cooling and quality memory sticks. Have 1 in an Asus A8V Dlx running RedHat FC3 and another on a MSI Neo4 Platinum, both run extremely cool and saved me bundles in the build over comparable Intel products and gave me better performance....
